RADIESSE®, JUVÉDERM®, RESTYLANE®, VOLUMA®, BELOTERO BALANCE®, SCULPTRA®

As part of the aging process, the face loses volume and skin loses its tightness due to a loss of collagen. While botulinum toxins such as Dysport, Xeomin and Botox may relax the facial muscles and keep them from producing wrinkles, they will not restore lost volume. Dermal fillers can help to restore volume to the mid-face, lips, cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and temples. The end result is restoring a youthful fullness to the face. Fillers tend to last between 6-18 months, depending on where the fillers are placed and how deep the wrinkles are. Once injected, the effects can be seen straight away however it takes around 3 days for it to fully settle.

Fillers available:

RADIESSE® is an injectable dermal filler that temporarily adds volume to help smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and gives an immediate lifting and firming effect of the skin. Once injected, RADIESSE® directly provides volume and lift needed to diminish the signs of aging because of the calcium-based microspheres and gel that comprise the product. Both the gel and the microspheres are completely broken down by the body over time. Radiesse is best used for deeper wrinkles. One of the most innovative uses for Radiesse is the enhancement of cheeks and mid-face. Some individuals have some bruising; however most patients resume all of their normal activities the next day. Recapture your natural radiance with new Radiesse!

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® can be an ideal option for the lips, lines around the mouth, and adding cheek area volume. JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® is formulated with Vycross® – which allows this filler to be one of the smoothest available. It is a long-lasting, soft, smooth gel that can be particularly ideal for augmenting lips. Studies have shown that when optimal correction is obtained, JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® can last up to one year in some individuals. Metabolism of fillers varies from patient to patient.

The JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). What’s interesting about HA is that it’s a natural substance in the skin that delivers nutrients, helps the skin retain moisture and softness, and adds volume. Each product in the JUVÉDERM® collection of fillers is made from a modified form of HA. JUVÉDERM® XC can be used to treat the marionette lines around the nose and mouth, or to enhance the lips or other features of the face.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC is also the only hyaluronic acid filler FDA-approved to instantly add volume to the cheek area, and can last up to two years with optimal treatment. If you’re looking to plump cheeks that have sunken over time, this injectable is a quick, convenient approach to skin care.

Restylane® – Restylane is another hyaluronic acid filler that is most similar to the body’s own hyaluronic acid. It can be used to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and also to add fullness to your lips. The newest formulation contains lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. Results with Restylane can last up to 12-18 months.

Belotero® is one of the hyaluronic acid fillers approved by the FDA. It is approved to smooth moderate to severe wrinkles and folds. When injected into the dermis, Belotero evenly integrates with your own dermal tissues and discreetly enhances your facial contours for added confidence. One of the major uses of Belotero is fine wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.

Sculptra®  works differently from the hyaluronic acid fillers because it stimulates growth of your own collagen to restore lost facial volume. Because it acts to stimulate collagen growth, the results from Sculptra are typically not immediately apparent and may take several months before you notice a difference. The results, however, tend to be more natural, longer lasting, in some cases up to two years after treatment.
